Flavia is a product leader with international experience scaling teams and building products. She is currently Director of Product at Spotify, where she works in the Experience Mission leading Discovery and Distribution.
She has worked for startups for 14 years, across 4 countries and multiple verticals, including being CPO of a Silicon Valley startup. Throughout her career, Flavia has also been responsible for large scale user acquisition efforts and helped companies worldwide with their complex growth challenges.
As a product leader, it can be tough to navigate working in different team structures, processes or with the constraints of a small (or large) team.
This interview will take on key learnings from Flavia on how to balance trade offs of moving like a startup with a lot of weight. How do you create things like goals, communication and build autonomy within a team.
If you figure out your customer needs upfront why do you need to do any more research?
In this session, our speakers will discuss:
- Why you need to do continuous discovery
- How to do it and
- Who needs to be involved
Shifting from a requirements approach to an outcomes approach is a difficult task. Equally how do you get developers to own the experience?
The role of a product manager isn’t to dictate the requirements but often the product manager is the person to decide. How do you encourage developers to take more ownership of the outcomes and not wait for requirements? How can developers be more involved in discovery and shaping the product?
