Kevin is the Director of Engineering at Qualio, where he builds products and teams that help life science companies to launch and scale life saving products.
He believes modern engineering teams need a strong product mindset and has used this principle to develop many new products across sectors such as energy, communications, and life sciences.
When Kevin isn’t building products, he can be found racing mountain bikes, running, and playing guitar. In a former life, he was also a champion Irish dancer who toured worldwide.
The biggest myth about getting buy-in from a stakeholder is that you need data and logic to make your case. It takes just one stakeholder to sway the desired outcomes of a product in the wrong direction. Early identification and engagement of key stakeholders are critical to the success of any product.
Moderated by Hannah Chaplin, this session will provide new insights and tips on how they manage stakeholders.
Software needs to be released early and often AND it needs to be thoroughly tested. But in life sciences, customers are responsible for verifying every upgrade of your software. How do you reconcile your need for fast learning and feedback with the burden that each release puts on your customers?
In this talk Kevin will cover:
- The multiple levels of validation required in life-sciences software
- The technical challenge of automating validation at each level
- How to ensure regulator approved quality with multiple autonomous teams and codebases
- Getting buy-in from the developers, internal QA, customers and regulators
