David is a Senior Digital Product Designer at Storyful, a Social Media Intelligence and News Agency that analyzes conversations and content across digital platforms to make sense of what’s happening on social media.
In his current role he leads the company's research initiatives, helping to set up the research guild and develop Storyful’s research principles and methodologies. He is also part of the Design System steering committee, contributing to it’s the overall direction, and helping to maintain its standards.
David has masters degrees in User Experience Design from IADT and outside of work is an avid Liverpool and Shamrock Rovers supporter.
Convincing an Agile company to do user research can be difficult, but just talking to your users will only help you learn what they want and not what they need.
Although the benefits of research can seem clear, old habits are hard to break so changing this culture can be an uphill battle.
